Solder Paste

Most solder pastes have an acid base which makes them an excellent cleaner.  They tend to work well with small diameter solders and are very convenient to use.  However, they should not be used on electrical applications as the electrical current will react with the acid base to break down the solder connection.  Although it is not necessary, it is recommended that you wipe off the soldered area with a damp cloth when finished to remove and excess acid paste.

We also have a rosin base solder paste available.  It is similar to the acid base but the cleaning agent is not nearly as aggressive.
