Flashing & Sheet Lead

Sheet lead is mainly used in commercial & industrial construction and radiation containment.

1/32" (2 lb) & 1/16" (4 lb) sheet lead are very common used for sound insulation in commercial and corporate settings.  Sheet lead is by far the best way to prevent sound waves from traveling.  By placing the sheet lead behind the drywall or between two sheets of drywall you can completely eliminate sound from exiting the area.  This is very commonly used in board rooms, private offices, court rooms, police stations, and anywhere else privacy is a must.

5/64" sheet lead is common used in roofing applications as a collar for stacks and chimneys.  Although we stock it in 18" x 18", 24" x 24",  30" x 30", and 36" x 36" sizes, it is available in any size you need.

Sheet lead is also used for the containment of radiation.  We can supply you with lead to contain everything from dental x-rays to a reactor.  We can produce any size you need by stacking 2" thick bricks to obtain the desired thickness.

Below find a chart with the general information on sheet lead thickness and related weights.  They are available in a variety of sizes so please contact us to see if a stocked size or a custom cut is best for your application.
